Legal basis for processing your personal data

We mainly collect your personal data because it is necessary to enter into a contract with you and for the consequent performance of that contract. We also process your personal data for the execution of the agreement between you and us for the provision of products and services you requested. It might affect the stated purposes if you don’t provide the personal data when we ask for.

We also process your personal data to comply with the legal obligation (i.e. accounting) and for our legitimate interests (i.e. project management, direct marketing, internal research, analysis). We may also process your personal data with your consent when it is necessary.

 

Who do we share your personal data with?

Kumho Tire does not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We may share your personal data with entities within the Kumho Tire group of companies for the purposes mentioned above. Also, as a member of the Kumho Tire group of companies, we can benefit from the large IT infrastructure and expertise that exists within our business. This means that the personal data you provide to us may be accessed by members of our group of companies for support and administrative purposes.

We may share your data with third party service provider who operates our website and manage marketing activities on our behalf. We have contracts in place with this service provider. This means that they cannot do anything with your personal data unless we have instructed them to do it. They will not share your personal data with any organization apart from us. They will hold it securely and retain it for the period we instruct.

In accordance with contracts or any service you have requested, and in compliance with applicable law and legal process, we may share and disclose your personal data to third parties which may include

How do we transfer your personal data internationally?

As Kumho Tire is a global company headquartered in Korea, your personal data may be transferred to Kumho Tire Co., Inc. located in Korea. Korea has not sought nor received a finding of “adequacy” from the European Commission under Article 45 of the GDPR. We use Model Clauses which is approved by European Commission in order to adduce adequate safeguards with respect to the protection of privacy and fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals for the transfer of the personal data

 

How long do we keep your personal data for?

Kumho Tire will retain personal data only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the goal mentioned above, unless the law permits or requires that Kumho Tire retains it for longer.
